The Ring nasce dall'idea dell'azienda Giapponese Shimitzu Corporation: trasformare la Luna in una centrale solare.  Il progetto prevede di installare pannelli fotovoltaici lungo tutto l'equatore Lunare. Questi pannelli catturerebbero energia solare a ogni ora del giorno, l’energia verrebbe canalizzata sul lato che la Luna mostra sempre alla Terra dove, utilizzando laser e onde elettromagnetiche, verrebbe poi trasferita sul nostro pianeta.

The Ring is a Japanese company Shimizu Corporation  idea : transforming the Moon into a solar power plant. The project plans to install solar panels throughout the lunar equator. These panels would capture solar energy at any time of the day, the energy would be channeled on the moon earth face, using laser and electromagnetic waves, would then be transferred to our planet.
